Music

Recently I put out an open call for music submissions to be featured in I Got Next. I’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to submit their work to the film, I was very excited with the submissions I was receiving. Unfortunately at this time, I’m closing the submissions, as I’m now working with musician Miles Mosley to develop a full score for the film. Thank you again for your work and for your time.

- Ian

I am pleased and excited to announce that I will be composing the score for Ian Cofino's “I Got Next.”

I have been a Street Fighter fan for many years and feel that Street Fighter 4 harnesses the power to make this amazing community band together in friendly, yet serious, competition in a way never before seen.

The subject matter of this film is of particular interest to me because it shows, as we all know, that Street Fighter is a competitive game that requires a large database of know-how, exacting physical ability and chess level mental strategy in order to win at its highest levels. It also leaves you with the sense that the players are setting the stage for competitive gaming to be placed in the same league as other professional sports. Street Fighter, to many, is NOT a hobby.

There are players in the world of whom I am a true fan. In America there’s Gootecks, Justin Wong, iloveu Joe and Combofiend.  In Japan I have deep respect for Daigo, Momochi, and Mago. All of these players as well as many more worldwide have devoted a significant portion of their lives to being considered the best. I correlate their accomplishments and abilities to those I have found and experienced in music. Having Produced, written or performed with some of the worlds greatest artist such as Jonathan Davis (Korn), Lauryn Hill, Mos Def, and India Arie, I recognize the time and effort and utter bravery required to be considered at the Zenith of an art form.

From the click of Sanwa and Hori parts to the perfectly placed FADC Ultra, I look forward to writing a score that will capture the excitement, suspense, and drama found within the world of Street Fighter.

Tiigeerrrrr,

Miles Mosley
